We’re excited to be partnering with Goodall Dog Training to offer fun, practical workshops designed to help you and your dog enjoy safe, enriching, and wildlife-aware walks together.
The Reliable Recall and Longline Handling workshop is perfect for dogs who struggle with recall (especially around distractions like wildlife!). You’ll learn effective techniques to build a reliable recall, alongside confident longline handling skills, to give your dog freedom while keeping them safe.
You can book your place on the Goodall Dog Training website. We politely ask that if you have already attended or booked onto a dog training workshop with Coast and Country Canines, that you allow someone else to use the limited places available for this session.

Rachael, who will be leading the sessions, is a fully accredited Canine Training Instructor with the Animal Behaviour and Training Council and a proud member of the Professional Association of Canine Trainers, so you can feel confident that you and your dog are in safe hands. The training you’ll be shown is motivational, reward based and force free. No aversive measures or harsh treatment will be tolerated, and you will be expected to use food and toy rewards.
If your dog’s recall is a bit hit and miss, and you’re desperate to give them more freedom, then the Reliable Recall & Longline Handling workshop is for you! Recall can be tricky for dogs, and the key is finding out what will really motivate them to come back to you when called.
You will also learn about how being a wildlife-aware dog walker can play an important role in protecting nature, while also helping to keep walks safe, relaxed, and enjoyable for you and your dog.
We want to make sure that this course is accessible to all, while fairly compensating our professionals for their valuable time and experience. So, we are subsidising the usual £23 price of similar sessions to make it £8 per dog. This is non-refundable, unless the session is cancelled by us or Goodall Dog Training.
The session will take place outdoors in a grassy area – the ground is slopy and uneven in places. If you have any questions about accessibility at this venue, please contact Rachael so she can advise.
Maximum of 8 dogs. One dog per person – dog handlers must be over 18. Children may attend but they must be accompanied by an adult.
If you have a nervous dog and are unsure if a group training session will be suitable for them, please contact Rachael at Goodall Dog Training for advice before booking.
Your dog must be fit and healthy to participate. They must also be fully vaccinated or titre tested to attend.
We cannot allow the use of prong collars, shock collars (sometimes called e-collars), choke chains, or any other kinds of aversive equipment at our events or workshops. These tools pose safety risks and fall outside of our ethical guidelines. You are still welcome to join us using a standard harness, and we are happy to discuss why we take this stance and the ethical alternatives.
