Other important details
Cost: We want to make sure that this course is accessible to all, while fairly compensating our professionals for their valuable time and experience. So, we are subsidising the usual £90 price of similar courses to make it £10 per dog for both training sessions and the guided group walk. This is non-refundable, unless the course is cancelled by us or GreenDog Dog Training.
Available spaces: Maximum of 6 dogs, and a minimum of 4 for the course to run. One dog per person – dog handlers must be over 18. Children may attend but they must be accompanied by an adult.
Accessibility: The outdoor training venue may have uneven ground. If you have any questions about accessibility at The Bark Park, please contact the owners directly so they can advise.
The pavement sections of Broadmarsh Coastal Park are flat, but the grassy areas are uneven. We will encounter slopes along our route.
Nervous dogs: If you have a nervous dog and are unsure if a group training session will be suitable for them, please contact Lisa for advice before booking.
Please dress appropriately for the weather and bring sturdy footwear. You will need:
- Long line (training line), no more than 5m long (not a flexi lead).
- Dog’s favourite toy (optional)
- Training mat or settle blanket (optional)
- Water, toys and settle mats will be provided
Important note about dog walking equipment: We cannot allow the use of prong collars, shock collars (sometimes called e-collars), choke chains, or any other kinds of aversive equipment at our workshops. These tools pose safety risks and fall outside of our ethical guidelines. You are still welcome to join us using a standard harness, and we are happy to discuss why we take this stance and ethical alternatives.
